Jewish Chronicle picks up on Peter Reynolds’ antisemitic blogs

Recently Peter Reynolds appeared in the Jewish Chronicle when they did an expose of his blog.  It would seem noted journalist Marcus Dysch was less-than-impressed with Peter’s blog.  It’s not hard to guess why.  Somehow a guy who writes for a Jewish publication took exception to the use of the phrases like “evil Jews” and “Nazi Zionist collaborator”.  Imagine that. 

As we’ve seen before Peter Reynolds likes to threaten people with the police.  I don’t know if he has the audacity to do this with a major publication, but I wouldn’t put it past him.  I’m sure the Jewish Chronicle will just knuckle under and print a full two-page-spread apology.  They’ll probably have to turn over control of the paper to Peter in the settlement, and then give him their desserts for a month.  If I were the editors there I would hide under my desk and wait for it all to end.

Peter claims in this article that the archives forwarded to the Chronicle were forgeries.  Amusingly enough, he sent links to his current blog without thinking to edit out the repeated references to Israelis and Jews as “Nazis”.  I’m beginning to believe that Peter skipped out on a few history classes, because he is painfully unaware of why exactly that particular comparison might touch a few raw nerves.  I’m pretty sure I don’t need to explain it to anyone else.

Peter claims he isn’t racist, or antisemitic, he just calls it like he sees it.  Since we are talking about an ethnic group that found themselves the target of industrialized murder, I feel it is fair to expect that they might be somewhat sensitive about these issues.  Peter is just trying to be even-handed though, right?  One of his oldest friends is an Englishman who converted to Judaism, so that’s like an insurance policy against being racist, isn’t it?

Some people would like to cut Peter some slack for his opinions; problematic for the apologists is the fact that the outrageous statements about Jews are anything but isolated.  The trouble with Peter Reynolds is that he has engaged in a systemic pattern of racist tirades, not just a few slips of the keyboard.  He claims he feels isolated as a white man in Britain, because there is nary a white face to be seen in London.  He has a problem with Asian students attending British universities, not because he has a problem with Asians, but because he feels they have become too abundant.

Peter Reynolds is all for diversity, just so long as there are limitations.  He doesn’t mind a little bit of pepper on his potatoes, but too much flavor is a bad thing.  In Peter’s eyes Olde Britannia doesn’t need a tan, just a few freckles.

He manages to simultaneously deny everything he’s said and support it at the same time.  Everything is a lie, and he completely stands behind everything he most certainly didn’t say.  He absolutely didn’t say it, or if he did he meant it, but not in a racist way.  You following me around this Mobius strip of self-consuming false logic here?

One of his oldest friends is a Jew.  Did I mention that?  Earlier on his oldest friend was a “jet-black Jamaican”, when confronted with accusations of racism against blacks.  Now he has the “Jewish friend” shield to hide behind.  I’m waiting for him to Photoshop himself into a Gung Hey Fat Choi postcard and claim his oldest friend is Chinese.

Come to think of it, I wonder if that Jewish friend is also the jet-black friend.  A jet-black Englishman-turned- Jew from Jamaica.  Imagine that, it’s like hitting the trifecta of diversity.  With credentials like that you could invade Czechoslovakia and nobody would say boo.

So what says Peter about the authenticity of internet archives?  Check it out for yourself, he doesn’t disappoint.

Am I the only one who thinks that this one-note song is a little tired?  Apparently now asking the wrong questions is cause for the police to round people up, and perhaps tazer them a bit.  He must have the Dorset Police on speed dial.  Does he expect that he can insist that everything is forged and archives were hacked and evidence was meticulously manufactured?  Does he know the entire internet isn’t on his hard drive and he cannot delete the portions he doesn’t like?

The mind boggles.

It’s a mountain of “false” evidence that the sneakiest of cold-war spies would be proud of.  Fake dating profiles set up years in advance.  Forged articles, and hacked internet archives.  Then you have the meticulously edited screencaps of Peter’s own comments.  If you take Peter at his word then this is a smear campaign worthy of the CIA.

That’s a lot of work for a bunch of crazy stoners.  There must be a drought going on, motivation amongst the shiftless pot smoking benefits scroungers seems to be on the rise.  If I were Peter, I would be worried.  At this rate all those long-haired liberal scruffy-faced wasters are going to do something like go out and vote in the Corby by-election.
