The Comical Bigotry of Peter Reynolds

Peter Reynolds apparently now hates the Scottish.  Yes, the Scots.  What did they do to Peter?  Well, they don’t seem to like the UKIP much, as demonstrated by events in Edinburgh.

So, Nigel Farage shows up in Edinburgh to do his thing, and protestors sent him packing.  Obviously his viewpoints are not terribly popular in that part of the world.  It’s not really shocking, considering the fact the Scottish independence movement is gaining steam in the face of what could only be characterized as “failed government” in the UK.  Peter is a pretty big fan of the UKIP, being as they share his thinly veiled contempt for everything not traditionally “British”.  So naturally he steps up to their defense, yet again.

His Facebook friends have even more potent attitudes towards the Scottish though!  One of his commenters characterizes Scots as inhuman!  He says they and the Dutch are inbred.  Ultimately, he exposes himself as a raging bigot.  Have a look.

Who liked that comment?  Why, it’s none other than our favorite raving bigot, Peter Reynolds!  While in the midst of playing the reasonable person who accepts all peoples and all opinions, he jumps on the Scottish-bashing bandwagon and gives a big old thumbs-up to this slobbering madman.  Way to go Peter!

This isn’t really the first group of people Peter has expressed an issue with.  There are too many Asians in schools, he finds too many brown people in London, he doesn’t like the “perversion” that is homosexuality or what he perceives as an “infection” of the fashion industry by gay designers.  His justification for not being a racist is in and of itself racist, quoting his “jet-black” friend as cause to dismiss such charges.  He even uses the World War II era propaganda favorite, “Evil Jews”!

Why in the nine circles of hell would Peter support such ridiculous statements against such a large swath of the population of the UK?  It is quite simply because Peter Reynolds has fantasies of joining the UKIP.  I don’t know if they have previously rejected his candidacy out-of-hand because he’s too much of a wingnut for even them, or if pretending to be the “leader” of a party is more exciting for him than being a foot soldier in the ranks of a larger campaign of bigotry.  Either way, he has a very strong like for the UKIP, and seems to be willing to throw a whole race of people under the bus to defend him.

A single-issue party must be about a single issue, but Peter spends a lot of his time worrying about what appear to be larger, albeit delusional ambitions.  He seems to fantasize that he is somehow destined for greatness, a leadership role of some kind.  The fact his laughable imitation of a political party can’t manage a general meeting should be evidence enough that he lacks the organizational skills and the political clout to get elected as Dog Catcher, doesn’t seem to discourage him.

The most fascinating thing about Peter’s love of the UKIP is their hard anti-cannabis stance.  How the hell can a guy who claims of be leader of a supposed political party who campaign for cannabis spend so much time defending self-described prohibitionist bigots?  Simple – Peter doesn’t want cannabis law reform, he just wants donations to do who-the-hell-knows what with.  The donations don’t buy public events, they don’t get ad time or space in the newspaper.  One has to speculate that the money you spend on CLEAR Peter turns around and spends suing other cannabis activists.

While other drug reform groups are working together, holding public events with speakers, and engaging discussion between different viewpoints – Peter has run off to his dank shack and taken his ball with him.  Peter refuses to work with anyone who is not the executive of CLEAR, a handful of people seemingly none of whom are allowed to express opinions which are not passed by Peter for approval in the first place.

For just a small donation you too can support the ego and maniacal fantasies of Peter Reynolds.  It’s probably not money well-spent.  You could get more for cannabis law reform by rolling up some choice weed in that five pound note and toking one on the Queen’s face.
