The final humiliation for Peter Reynolds

Peter Reynolds the dictator cannot stand any criticism or exposure to the truth about his racist bigoted views. We’ve documented before how Reynolds writes threatening emails to any blog that dares publish the truth about this right-wing loony and his offensive views.

Earlier in the year, unable to silence his critics, Reynolds took the extraordinary step of issuing libel writs against four cannabis activists; Greg de Hoedt, Alun Buffry, Chris Bovey and Sarah McCulloch. All four are members of NORML UK and three of them sit on the elected board. The truth is many people have commented on Peter Reynolds’ offensive views, yet only people associated with NORML were to receive a writ from him.

These writs cost Reynolds a grand total of £8,580. The claims were ridiculous and were obviously going nowhere, though it is the case that they have wasted a great deal of time and money for the activists on the receiving end of them, and has apparently cost one of the defendants over £22,000 in legal fees to deal with the matter, since he was too busy himself to do a crash course in defamation law in under a month.

It takes seven years to fully qualify as a defamation lawyer and it is a highly complex area of English law. Reynolds has no legal representation, which is hardly surprising, since the advice he would get from any lawyer would have been to shut the cases down.

Peter Reynolds Watch has learned that the Queen’s Bench Division of the High Court of Justice has already struck out at least two of the libel actions launched by Reynolds. In the case of Greg de Hoedt, Chair of the UK Cannabis Social Clubs, the bungling fool Reynolds didn’t even serve the writ to the correct address, in accordance with Civil Procedure Rules. Yes that’s right, the dickwad spent £2,145 to issue a High Court libel writ against Greg de Hoedt, a medicinal cannabis user reported to the police by Reynolds in the past, to the wrong address.

In February of this year, Reynolds boastfully announced on Facebook that ‘the fight back against hatred and abuse had started’ by posting a copies of the libel writs. Following complaints, Facebook removed the post and banned him from posting for a while.

A couple months later, Reynolds announced he had won his first defamation claim against respected academic Dr Gary Potter and London South Bank University (LSBU), one of the oldest and largest universities in London. We were soon to learn this was a massive lie from Reynolds. In reality only a personal statement from Dr Potter was released, not LSBU, the statement from Dr Potter has since been removed and Dr Potter and LSBU are in the process of taking legal action for defamation against Reynolds himself after he falsely implicated them in a campaign of blackmail and abuse of children and the elderly.

Given the public proclamations from Reynolds of how he was going to take everyone to the cleaners, this is the ultimate humiliation for the fool. In his deluded mind, he somehow thought he was going to get the Courts to agree it was defamatory to call him an antiSemite, even though he used terminology such as “evil Jews” and suggested they should have been left to their own devices during World War II as they were nothing but trouble. He believed he could use the Courts to extort money from people for suggesting his blogs complaining there are too many immigrants and not enough white faces in London were racist. He somehow thought a British court would agree with him it was not homophobic to call gay people “perverted fools” and not in the least bit racist to advocate the use of nuclear weapons against Pakistan to “blast these evil Islamists off the face of the Earth”.

CLEAR is a sinking ship, they couldn’t even afford less than a tenner to renew the domain name lca-uk.org, which used to belong to the Legalise Cannabis Alliance, before Reynolds took it over and destroyed the organisation. This domain was redirecting to the CLEAR web site; I couldn’t help but notice after they failed to renew it they lost their position on Google quite badly, since it was a historical domain from 1999 with many web sites linking to it. Godaddy sold the domain for around $680 to a Japanese company who probably want to use it for SEO purposes.

Peter Reynolds’ leadership of CLEAR is an embarrassment to the cannabis community. Now he has lost his libel actions that he had previously been so boastful about, will he do the decent thing and resign from CLEAR, I doubt it, we can but hope.

He is a stain on our whole movement and while he has provided much comedy, he now needs to crawl back under the rock from whence he came and that cannot be a moment too soon.
