Peter Reynolds declares himself president

Author: Kevin John Braid

Peter Reynolds, dictator / leader / President of Cannabis Law Reform (CLEAR).
Peter Reynolds the dictator.

Peter Reynolds likes to feel important, he often announces himself as the elected Leader of Cannabis Law Reform (CLEAR).

It costs £150 to register a political party with the British Electoral Commission and Reynolds has only stood in one by-election, polling the lowest result ever for a candidate standing on the cannabis issue in the UK.

Still, this doesn’t stop Reynolds from pretending CLEAR is somehow important, evidently oblivious to the laughing stock that he and his party clearly are.

Alas, it seems the title of Leader of CLEAR is not enough for Peter, in a recent blog post, CLEAR announced that Reynolds had been made President of CLEAR. No further information was offered as to what this post entails.  The “Leader” was an elected position.  The “President” didn’t exist until this vapid announcement was made.  Can somebody who holds the title “President” also be “Leader”?  Does Peter relinquish the title of Leader by accepting the Presidency, a position not elected by, but rather appointed by Peter and his close chums?

One person liked the fact Peter Reynolds declares himself President of CLEAR.

There is nothing in the CLEAR constitution about a President. Perhaps Peter got fed up with being known as der Führer and wants to now be referred to as El Presidente? Who knows what goes through that deluded alcohol sozzled mind.

Another possibility is Reynolds has made himself President of CLEAR, since a bankrupt cannot stand for Parliament and I’d say his impending bankruptcy is highly likely when he loses these spurious libel lawsuits he has launched and is left with a massive costs bill.

Reynolds also announces, Mark Palmer, has been given the Fellowship of CLEAR, which they say is the highest honour of the party.  They state it is awarded to those who are “true heroes in the cause, who have gone way above and beyond the call of duty and have made a real difference”. Well, given that Mark Palmer has been to prison for credit card fraud, I’d say he’s in good company, though we still don’t know the full details of why Peter Reynolds was sent to prison. Remember folks, if you have information pertaining to Peter Reynolds’ conviction for an offence of dishonesty and why he was sent to prison for 18 months, we’d love to know and there’s a £250 cash reward for this information.

Another person listed as a Fellow of CLEAR, is Don Barnard, a long standing cannabis activist with the old Legalise Cannabis Alliance, before Reynolds hijacked it and turned it into the joke that is CLEAR. It is no secret Don Barnard does not think highly of Peter Reynolds, don’t just take our word for it, when Alun Buffry, another long standing critic of Reynolds who is also being sued, posted a link to his blog, which is scathing of Peter Reynolds on Don Barnard’s Facebook wall, did Don delete it? No, he clicked the like button, Don also voted yes in last years Politics UK poll which asked if Peter Reynolds should resign as leader of CLEAR. The final result was 92% in favour of Reynolds standing down, sadly, the man is still here.

PUK poll asking if Peter Reynolds should stand down as leader of Cannabis Law Reform (CLEAR).
92% of Politics UK subscribers think Peter Reynolds should stand down as leader of Cannabis Law Reform (CLEAR).

Peter believes in real democracy, where 92% isn’t a majority, but 0.4% is a near-miss at total victory.  Once again we are shown just how terrible Peter is at dealing with numbers.

  1. The man and his acolytes are cLEARly deluded,El Presidente has finally succumb to his ever inflating ego.. when the truth is, he is just full of shite…

  2. Peter Reynolds is a blight on the UK cannabis scene. It beggars the imagination that he has been able to stay at CLEAR so long despite evidence that he is racist, homophobic and anti-Semitic.

  3. Aye, and I’m the king of Scotland too….

  4. Is this wanker still on the cannabis scene? He’s like a piece of dog shit that won’t rub off your shoe – he needs a good bleaching.

The sooner he goes the better, shame he doesn’t get banged up again, he would not be missed.

  5. Peter Reynolds the least influential President there has ever been or will ever be!

  6. He will be as good a president as Richard Nixon . But the difference is we already know he is a crook .

  7. I wonder if Peter’s conviction for ‘dishonesty’ really has been spent. The newspaper article about his arrest for domestic violence in 2003 describes him as the Managing Director for Capital Doctor magazine. There is a website for the latter but nothing seems to have been posted after April 2008. That leaves a gap of a couple of years until he popped up at CLEAR, which could easily have been spent in prison. There don’t seem to be any other gaps on his CV, such as it is.

  8. Another great article. When Peter Reynolds becomes liable for paying everybodies legal bills, I hope he does the right thing and gets a job to honour his debts.

Luckily his 18 month sentence is now spent, so McDonalds or Iceland will probably take him on. Unless he was done for touching young boys or racism.

Peter…if you need help with your CV – give me a shout. I will be happy to list all you have done!

  9. Do you remember the kids that make up their own club, generally consisting of two kids without many friends sitting in a poorly constructed tree house fantasing that they are popular and making up titles for themselves.” Ill be the club president ” announces a mini PR with an I really blown sense of self,

“Ok but only if I can be Fellowship of The club, and it can be the highest honour of the club” states little Palmer, ” after all I am a true heroes in the cause, who has gone way above and beyond the call of duty, I let us use me treehouse and even stole some of me dads whiskey”

“Alright you can be fellowship, but just don’t forget I’m the President”

Anyone can make up a title for themselves but it means nothing!
