The political allegiance of Peter Reynolds has always been confusing. Judging by his racist right-wing blogs, one might be led to think he’s best suited in the British National Party. In the past he’s claimed to love Thatcher, support UKIP, be a member of the Lib Dems and is now a fully paid up member of the Conservative Party.
Our sources tell us the Lib Dems were going to expel him when they found out about his intolerant and hateful views, his rebuke resulted in a highly offensive and defamatory blog he wrote about Liberal Democrat Mayor of Dorset, Ros Keyes, as well as placing her under a torrent of personal abuse.
So Peter announced he had re-joined the Conservative Party, along with a new blog praising new Tory PM Theresa May, despite the fact she is vehemently contrary to evidence based drugs policies, or any kind of cannabis law reform.
Recently, Jeremy Corbyn, the leader of the Official Opposition has just come out in support of medicinal cannabis, which many would argue to be a step in the right direction. However Peter, never one to turn down an opportunity to shoot himself in the foot, wrote a blog entry on the CLEAR web site claiming that support from Corbyn would damage the cause of legalising cannabis.
Forgetting for a moment the irony of how a racist homophobic bigot like Reynolds who sues activists and reports medical cannabis users to the Police claiming to be a champion for the cause of the legalisation campaign, CLEAR have turned their nose up at the first Labour leader that has a progressive outlook.
Peter’s blog did not go down well on the CLEAR Facebook page, producing a stream of comments from people saying they were cancelling subscriptions and unliking their page. Peter being Peter didn’t step back to reflect that publishing a blog against the leader of the Labour Party for supporting medical cannabis might not go down to well in the community, and of course decided to dig a deeper hole by denigrating Uruguay, the first country in the world to formally legalise cannabis, describing it as a “Socialist, dippy hippy dreamland.”
I’ve actually been to Uruguay, and describing it as a socialist, dippy hippy dreamland is ridiculous. Uruguay is ranked first in Latin America in democracy, peace, lack of corruption, e-government, and is first in South America when it comes to press freedom, size of the middle class and prosperity. On a per-capita basis, Uruguay contributes more troops to United Nations Peacekeeping missions than any other country. It ranks second in the region on economic freedom, income equality, per-capita income and inflows of FDI. Uruguay is the third-best country on the continent in terms of HDI, GDP growth, innovation and infrastructures. It is regarded as a high-income country (top group) by the UN.
But that’s Peter Reynolds for you: claims to support cannabis legalisation, yet denounced the first Labour leader for supporting the legalisation of medical cannabis. In the past Corbyn supported a bill to decriminalise cannabis. Peter also insults the entire nation of Uruguay, the world’s first country to legalise cannabis. I expect next year when Canada legalises cannabis he’ll be vituperating Liberal Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, as an ideology-crazed barking moonbat howling at the moon.
The comments on the post are amusing, with many people saying they have unliked the page and stopped donating money. I guess they will have to buy more fake likes to make up the numbers.
Even Derek Williams, former webmaster for CLEAR, who resigned along with the entire CLEAR executive earlier in the year over a disagreement in the way Peter runs the organisation, had a pop.
I’m personally a Lib Dem voter, since they have the most progressive drug policies of the main political parties. However, support towards cannabis law reform from politicians of any political persuasion should be welcomed, especially from the Leader of the Official Opposition.
I can see why a charlatan like Reynolds would be attracted to the Tories, they are known to be, after all, the nasty party, the one that cuts disability payments to fund tax cuts for the rich and wants to scrap the Human Rights Act, as well as being responsible for the Brexit fiasco.
Although, I’m bemused how a man who owes me tens of thousands pounds in legal fees after unsuccessfully suing me for truthfully calling him a racist homophobic bigot, who told a Costs Hearing under oath in Court that he was a penniless loser claiming Job Seekers Allowance and Housing Benefit, should be supporting such an elitist capitalist political party like the Tories. Perhaps Peter ought to put the cheap whiskey bottle down and get on his bike to look for work, so he’d be able to afford to pay back all that money he owes me. The Sheriffs are still coming Petey, get your bank cards out or they’ll be seizing your possessions, as much as I consider as “valuable” the possessions of a false apostle of a cause you never embraced!
