The childish histrionics of Peter Reynolds and his loyal lap-dog Derek Williams have reached a new and baffling low. They have managed, with great measure of whining and moaning, to get the moderators of Politics UK taken off Facebook. That isn’t much of a feat, considering the fact their original intent was civil and criminal action against the moderators. It’s still way over the line; nobody should be banned from anything just because Peter wants to save face.
This is all the result of Peter Reynolds going berserk every time somebody draws attention to the truth. In this case it was for posting a link to the phone call where Peter admits to impersonating fictitious journalist James Clay. Sure, he blusters a lot on the call and you could make a very weak argument that he wasn’t intending to admit such. The fact he took down his number from the CLEAR site as their press contact, and then fought tooth and nail to have the soundbyte removed from the internet is itself a tacit admission of guilt.
It gets better though. Derek Williams also tacitly admitted that Peter had impersonated James Clay in his tirades on the blog of one Sarah McCulloch, who has played an important enough role in this saga that you already know who she is. While attempting to prevent his own words from being accurately reproduced under his name on a blog he must read (he did see the comment after all) the craziness which was detailed by our last article ensued.
So, Peter and Derek, while causing a few people a headache, have also been kind enough to confirm what it is we have been saying. He did in fact use a false identity and unimaginative subterfuge in order to elicit damaging information about one of his detractors. That’s pretty slimy, even for a politician.
I can imagine why he doesn’t want the brushfire of truth to keep spreading. PUK didn’t post a defamatory article; they reported on something he actually did!
Of course, when Politics UK posted the article as well, despite Peter blustering about lawsuits, the CLEAR crew just wouldn’t let it stand. Through some miracle he/they managed to convince the not-so-good folks at Facebook to ban all the moderators of that group. How does he do it? Simple; the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

Very much like a toddler throwing a loud, disruptive tantrum in order to get what they want, Peter whines and complains until people capitulate rather than listen to him any further. In Canada in the mid-nineties the television show Mighty Morphin Power Rangers got cancelled after two letters of complaint. Those two letters were clearly written by hysterical soccer moms who were concerned that somehow in the wide landscape of sex and violence on television that five kids who do their homework and fight evil in silly spandex outfits were a threat to peace and civility in Canadian society. Rather than face the wrath of angry busybodies, the network capitulated and the Power Rangers were banished from the airwaves for several years.
It only took two letters to convince a major broadcast network to cancel the most profitable show in their lineup – think about it.
If Peter, and his ever faithful idiot man-child Derek, were to rally their five supporters together to all write complaints, Facebook is more likely to capitulate than drag it out. They don’t know who the hell Peter is, but when somebody keeps writing claiming to be a politician and making legal threats, they’re more likely to err on the side of caution and just block whatever was pissing off the whiny old coot. They have no idea the “offices” of Cannabis Law Reform are a squalid, dog-urine-stained house with a man in a greasy undershirt pretending to be a politician on the Internet. I’m sure they will eventually catch on to the fact that Peter is drunk, deluded, arrogant and staggeringly stupid; at which point they won’t be willing to block anybody else for his benefit. In the meantime, it continues.

The really amusing part about the PUK incident is that not all of the mods were interested in Peter or his antics. It wasn’t until he went to the lengths to have a number of them removed that they decided to take notice of Peter Reynolds and CLEAR – in a decidedly negative light. Peter has just made even more enemies than he used to have, which isn’t a good idea for a man whose only friends are the vacuous wet paper bags that surround him and bow to his every demand.
I’m looking at you, Derek Williams.
This is what CLEAR is all about – short term gains for long term losses. Facebook bans will last a few days, at which point the politicos at PUK will be back to business as usual. Peter’s impact on the situation will be brief, but he’s made more enemies for life. That isn’t a good trade. If you’re representing a political party, you want everyone in a position to spread your message to be your best friend. The more enemies you make out there, the more silence that will prevail when you try to spread the good word about cannabis.
At this stage of the game, CLEAR does more for prohibition by supporting the actions of their purported leader than anything else out there. Peter’s personal conflicts with everyone he encounters are pushing the cause further across the lines of marginalization, because people who previously had no interest are taking a stance against CLEAR solely because of Peter Reynolds.
The guns have fallen silent at PUK today – but they will return. This was one of the few platforms open enough to take such small party seriously enough to do interviews with their leader and promote their cause. Peter has now gloriously burned that bridge at a time when CLEAR isn’t important enough to get the attention of the mainstream media.
Peter did manage to get the audio clip of his attempt to impersonate a journalist removed from both Soundcloud and Liveleak. There’s not much a lot of complaining can’t get yanked from the internet in these times of paranoia about internet bullying.

Peter Reynolds has used threats of lawsuits, trying to bludgeon his opponents with the power of the state, and failed. He has tried to have evidence of his juvenile attempts to cover his own actions removed, and he has failed, because we just keep posting them further past the reach of his complaints. Now he is attempting to use Facebook as a weapon, and it isn’t going to work. Peter Reynolds and CLEAR are not strong advocates of free speech.
Your donation doesn’t buy an end to prohibition; it supports CLEAR in their efforts at damage control. All the while their leader is running about raving and ranting, foaming at the mouth like a rabid dog, CLEAR sounds more and more like “MUD”. What are people going to say about that behavior?
“Stupid potheads, look at the way they act.” The actions of a drunk, who doesn’t really consume much cannabis, are reflecting on the community of legitimate medical and recreational cannabis users in a very bad way. Every time Peter blows his top he makes a new enemy, not just for himself, but for the cause of legal cannabis use. The government has a lot of people convinced that cannabis use causes crazy behavior; it seems like the leader of CLEAR is out to prove it.
Also, if Peter or Derek would like to get me banned from something, I use the name James Collins on Facebook. Feel free to take a run at me, boys. Bigger sharks than you have tried to end me, and I’m still here.

Cant you make the legitimate argument to soundcloud etc that investigative journalism of a public person lying, bullying etc is in the public interest – and do a PR and *demand* it is restored
ass hole is the word for P.R. Also if you know where he is likely to be talking or complaining ring the people up and tell them who he is and what he stands for, as the B.B.C wont have him on live T.V it shows that they know already and would rather have Clarkee on T.V. instead. Fuck CLEAR, Fuck P.R. soon to be forgotten and everyone join Norml U.K. also P.R. said protesting is a waste of time, what he really means is, if he organised a protest only the Clear elite would turn up. And as D.W. looks like a waste of space and a food abuser I see Norml taking the lead this year and next
PRick’s impersonation of a journalist is almost as poor as his impersonation as a politician.
